hwehehehe. I think this is justified naman
I immediately tuned in to Channel 7 to watch the pilot episode of Captain Barbell, When a friend texted me
I had assumed that after Darna, they had learned everything there is to learn. What in heaven's name is running inside their heads whn they thought of that story, that is if they INDEED thought of it.
Does Channel 7 think nobody knows how the story of Superman goes?
In case you haven't watched it, I was brave enough to endure the 30 minutes of the pilot . I FORTUNATELY missed the first few minutes, so here goes
Captain Barbell came from the future and is the son of, I'm assuming a scientist, played by former Xtra Challenge host Paolo Bedjones (did I spell that right?), She and her wife Snooky Serna, became under threat from a tyrant (maybe). The Tyrant then forces him to follow his will, or else his wife dies. They battle a Robocop with droopy breast plates. They escaped thanks to the help of ---well somebody. They flee the scene riding a floaing 60's Mercedes Benz (wow Futuristic). And alongside you could see other vehicles similarly victimized by carnappers and chopped. Realizing they had left their son, they went back for the rescue. Upon getting the boy, the scientist chose to send them back in time to save them, using a Time machine that is parked and very stationary in the side. He warns his wife, that it was barely tested. Such Concern. He succeeded but was cornered by the Gold Dust (remember the wrestler?) Cyborg, while three soldiers crammed into another capsule. He then gets weakened by a pink kryptonite… well what else is that supposed to be?--- And then defeated by the Cyborg with the very intimidating name: Commander X. He then pulls out his insignia and ala Voltron, forms the Barbell. And throws it to destroy the time machine
The Capsule the mother and child used then appears and plummets from the sky like a comet… where it got the inertia and height to be moving like that I don't know… Physics probably acts differently in the Philippines. And probably that's the real reason why the father chose to stay behind.
They Crash land without leaving any trace of a crater, but the impact injured the child on the head. To protect her son, she fights those soldiers who found her within seconds (they also crashed mind you ). After getting all three with direct hits, she collapses (and dies?), because of a very tiny scrape on her left arm. Her son however survives with a very bloody head injury and possible head trauma. Oh wow.
Here it comes…
An elderly couple is driving down the road with their pick up… hehehe… chances upon the boy. They take him home, with his capsule on the back of the truck. While preparing to bury the capsule by their house, The man, Aloy, boasts his intuition by seemingly connecting the capsule to another place OR ANOTHER TIME. By the next morning they agreed to adopt the child. The Woman, Elay, was elated, despite her reluctance just the night before… and then the surprise: They found him lifting above his head the family tractor! Wooow… Original
They had practically ruined the story of Captain Barbell, They're trying to make it ala Smallville… a serious story. When Captain Barbell is not. Damn just read the title! The Story is supposed to have the lead as a nerdy lad that gets his powers from a magical barbell.
I guess Zapata's favorite hero story is Smallville or Superman, since the Smallville part shone in his Darna. I was laughing for the whole 30 minutes.
Let's give this straight out… The way they made the costumes, suck. They say they spent $50,000 for Barbell's costume, when I think that's the whole production cost news.inq7.net/entertainment/in… one who made the batman suit??? Riiiiiiiiiight. The article doesn't even give credit to who really designed the costume; A friend told me it was Reno Maniquis' designs, and he is a very good artist. But sometimes creativity in this country is hindered by spoiled brats from TV stations
So what's the story going to be about?
Watch Terminator, and then read Superman: Red Sun and watch Smallville. There's even a shot where he is driving poles to the ground using his hands only….

RIP Jeff Huet
It is heartbreaking that I should update my DA Journal or at least remember my DA account to tell the passing of a friend and fellow artist. He passed last September 25 due to Covid. Most of the news was broken only in Facebook. I was set to ask how he was but I was too late. Prior to that we were expecting he'd pull through as we heard he was on the mend. You all know him here as knockmesilly, most notably the inker for Planet Hulk. He was also an old collegemate and friend that I tried out with to enter the comics business. So finding out his passing was devastating for me and those who've come to know him as a friend. Right now, his family remains in quarantine, and I'm trying to help them out and I would appreciate it if you can too. The cost of treating Covid here is unreasonably high, and any family is left with that financial burden regardless of whether your loved one survives or dies. We started asking for donations on the day he died but we continue to ask for your

Well Hello There
I'm guessing it's obvious I haven't been here for quite some time. I will post some of my work I've recently done, but if anyone has been curious on what I've been up to you can go to my art page in Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thecarlopagulayan
And since I don't know what has changed in Deviantart, is there like a way where my post here can automatically crosspost to Facebook or Twitter?
I guess that's it for now
Good day peeps
